MY SON’S MASK
GH Carving LLC
After attempting to get my children involved in the “Krampus Kraze” I was finally successful in my son asking if he could participate, in costume, for our 2023 Krampusnacht Bremerton. Not having a lot of time to order costume supplies from Austria, I was seeking alternatives for his costume in time for this year’s event.
Keeping an eye on Krampus-related posts on Facebook and Instagram, I came across GH Carving LLC. Gavin is an accomplish wood carver with 15 years of experience in the art form. GH Carving honed his skills with woodland creatures and animals, expanding his repertoire to include Krampus masks.
Consulting with experienced maskenschnitzers in Austria GH Carving has learned traditional mask carving technique with some American flare. Not only are his masks carved out of wood in a traditional style, they also boast authentic horns, and not reproductions.
Finding GH Carving is a true asset for American Krampus Troupes. He’s located in Coeur D’Alene, Idaho and ships all over the United States. His shop is more accessible than a flight to Europe, for custom fittings. Even if you don’t want to make the trip to northern Idaho, he’s accessible during reasonable hours, and communicates without language barriers, for most American customers. These masks are truly high-quality art pieces that can be passed down to future Krampus generations.
I ordered my son’s mask from GH Carving, and couldn’t be happier. My 6ft5 giant of a son is going to make quite an intimidating Krampus, walking down the street with an additional two feet of horns off the top of his head. I’m so thrilled I could find a “local” mask maker, who produces a quality product, and will add a new Krampus to our troupe. It was definitely worth a small investment in an artist who makes great masks!
