Krampusnacht Bremerton brings the old-world Alpine tradition of Krampus—the horned, folkloric companion of St. Nicholas—to life in the heart of downtown Bremerton. Expect a day packed with music, mischief, and holiday magic, with plenty of fun for all ages.
Who is Krampus?
In Alpine folklore, Krampus is a horned, furry figure who appears each December alongside St. Nicholas. While St. Nick rewards well-behaved children, Krampus is there to remind the naughty ones to do better next year. With his carved wooden mask, jingling bells, and dramatic costume, Krampus has been part of winter celebrations in Austria, Germany, and across Europe for centuries. The highlight of these traditions is the Krampuslauf, or “Krampus Run,” where costumed performers fill the streets with noise, music, and holiday mayhem.
Krampus Comes to Bremerton
The first Krampusnacht Bremerton was held in 2019, bringing this centuries-old tradition to the Kitsap Peninsula for the first time. What began as a small gathering has grown into one of Bremerton’s biggest annual festivals, attracting thousands of visitors, costumed performers, and vendors each year. Today, it combines Old World folklore with Pacific Northwest creativity—complete with live music, food trucks, craft markets, and the unforgettable Krampuslauf parade through downtown.
